Gregory Lamberson is an award winning filmmaker and author who specializes in the horror genre. He is best known for his films "Slime City" (1988) and its sequel, "Slime City Massacre (2010)," as well as his novels "Personal Demons" (2009) and "Desperate Souls," (2010) the first two volumes in the ongoing occult detective series "The Jake Helman Files." His other novels include "Johnny Gruesome" (2008) and "The Frenzy Way" (2010), as well as the instructional filmmaking book "Cheap Scares: Low Budget Horror Filmmakers Share Their Secrets." His films "Undying Love" (1992) and "Naked Fear" (1999) are included in the 2-disc DVD "Greg Lamberson's Slime City Grindhouse Collection." Raised in Fredonia, New York, Lamberson studied filmmaking at New York's School of Visual Arts. He worked as the production manager on the film "I Was a Teenage Zombie" (1987) before writing and directing "Slime City," then worked as the 1st assistant director on "Plutonium Baby" (1987) and Frank Henenlotter's "Brain Damage" (1988). "Slime City" and "Undying Love" (1992) played as a midnight movies in NYC. Lamberson worked as Phil Gallo's 1st AD and associate producer on the crime drama "West New York" (1996) before directing his final NYC feature, "Naked Fear." "Personal Demons," won the Anubis Award for Horror and the IPPY Gold Medal for Horror, an honor shared by "Personal Demons." "Johnny Gruesome" also won Dark Scribe Magazine's "Best Small Press Chill" Readers' Choice Award . "Slime City Massacre" won the Polished Apple's Best Sequel award , as well as "Biggest Baddest Mother of the PollyGrind" at the PollyGrind Film Festival; Best Actress for Debbie Rochon at the Eerie Horror Film Festival; Best Scream Queen for Brooke Lewis at the Golden Cob Award s; and Best Actor for Kealan Patrick Burke at the PollyGrind. In 2010, Lamberson co-founded the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival, and in 2011 he co-produced "Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast."
